Over the summer of 2022, the World of Coca-Cola installed a new exhibit that honors the sign painters who have produced more than 16,000 outdoor Coca-Cola murals since 1890.
Amber Thompson and her grandfather, who painted murals for Coke in the '70s, have been restoring old walls with Coca-Cola ads on them across the country.
We interviewed Amber as she shared her passion for restoring the "ghost signs." While connecting the past to the present, she experienced a deep personal connection to the work of her late grandfather, Andy Thompson, known as "the Coke sign painter." We see the passing of a torch as she renews her grandfather’s legacy.
